This page is hosted on a cheap VPS, running Alpine Linux using about 100MB of RAM. Alpine seems to be a pretty good choice of distros if you want great speed.
The website is served to you through nginx. I chose it because I've gotten used to the configuration in recent years. It's pretty good stuff, though I'm not sure about most distros using venvs by default...
Following is a webp encoded image of a cat. BTW, the image is only 67KB compared to the original 3.1MB. If you're going to be using images on modern sites, you should use modern codecs and scale images approprately.
